Impressions UConn

- Give UM credit, they did not look past an obviously over matched opponent and took care of business.
- It is always a plus when you can empty the bench and give every player some PT.
- I was impressed by UM’s 2nd and 3rds.
- They played hard and there were not a ton of missed assignments or ugly play.
- I was happy Orgi got into the end zone.
- JJ solidified his status as #1 IMO.
- Was happy to see JJ step out of bounds instead of do his Earl Campbell imitation.
- Yes, I am dating myself, LOL!
8a. I think staff put him on a short leash at one point. He handed off when he should of pulled and he had a chance to run for yards out of the pocket and did not.
- I was impressed with Corum’s improvement running between the tackles.
- Stayed on course and did not bounce too early.
- UMs O Line did a great job wearing down UConn’s D Line.
- And they were good sized.
- Most impressive thing to me on offense is WR blocking.
- They are engaging and staying with their blocks.
- I really liked that starters began the 2nd half.
- As I sated last week, this was something UM needed to do to prep for the rest of the season.
- This group of WRs is as quick and athletic as any UM has shown in many years, maybe ever.
- I had a huge smile when UM Oline moved the LOS backwards on the goal line.
- Props to Erik All and his improved blocking.
- What was a negative is now a big positive in his game.
- Three huge special team’s plays put the game away.
- This D Line moves extremely well laterally.
- The kept spilling the UConn running game to the unaccounted for overhangs.
- Have to give props to the edge players, did a great job of setting the edge.
- Kept UConn offense between the hashes.
- Need to give credit to defense staff.
- Game plan recognized UConn lack of vertical stretch and they completely compressed the field.
- 1st actual old school zone blitz. And MacGregor executed to perfection.
- Turner has a chance to be special on the corner.
- I now the comp has been suspect, but tackling has been excellent.
- My one worry on defense, D Line had problems finishing in the pass rush.
- QB was able to break contain on the scramble and stress the secondary..
- Time to get ready for Conference Play!
- Until Next Week, Go Blue!
