Michigan Football: Week 5 Thoughts

- Best thing about being 5-0, opportunity to be 6-0. Great to see the players having fun.
- Henning is becoming a weapon on punt returns.
- Field position he gains is worth its weight in gold.
- Glad to see Moody rebound from last weeks big miss.
- I was not as upset as some with the short kick off at end of 1st half.
- Michigan obviously saw something on film and almost exploited it. Worth the risk IMO.
- Was anyone else getting bit nervous when Cade struggled a bit passing in 1st half.
- I counted 8 poor passes in 1st and 11 for entire game. Has to improve on this.
- I liked how UM came out uptempo no huddle to start the game. Nice mix up.
- If Henning is going to run the jet he needs to read that outside block. Twice he get good yardage if he cuts off the edge block.
- I thought sequence from 1 yard line was one of best on the season.
- Moved the chains without taking undo risk.
- The flea flicker is my 2nd favorite gadget play. UM executed to perfection.
- Think UM is going to need to get Corum involved in passing game .
- Especially short circle routes and other things over the middle. Need to make linebackers play honest.
- Corum sees and makes the shallow cut as well as any UM RB in along time.
- UM has to get better off sudden changes. Two weeks in a row settled for FG’s multiple times.
- Think UM is doing very good job of prepping JJ.
- If I am playing UM I running a ton of 4i. Gave UM some trouble.
20 Poor WR blocking hurt us. 4 times it cost UM yardage.
- Gold Star group of the week, UM’s D Line.
22.They were outstanding.
- Smith and Ojabo played their best games in Michigan Uniforms.
- Been critical of past defenses not getting safeties involved in running game. They are outstanding this year.
- Anybody else get upset with UM defense on Wisconsin’s 1st TD.
- Why did they stop blitzing and give them time to throw?
- Just a pet peeve, but I get very upset why my subs give up late TD.
- This is your time, execute like your coached.
- If you watch our D Line they run laterally and stretch the running game out extremely well.
- One huge key is our pass rush did outstanding job of staying in their lanes and keeping Wisconsin QB from breaking contain.
- UM is really doing great job of disguising blitzes and coverage’s.
- This is the most physical UM defense is quite awhile.
- Finally, some of Blue Brothers are probably thinking wow, quite a bit of negativity for a 38-17 win. Especially about the offense.
- Just me, but think if UM going to really challenge for the Conference the offense needs to step it up. Just not there yet.
- Until next week, Go Blue!
