Impressions Iowa
by CoachBT · October 2, 2022
- Side note, anybody else start to get P*SSED at how long commercial breaks were? Seemed to be a lot longer today.
- Win is a win, but game was much closer than it should of been.
- 1st drive was perfect example of advantage JJ brings to the offense.
- Moved the chains with his legs and made out throw Cade could of made.
- There are times when one play changes entire game, Zinter stepping on JJ’s foot was that play.
- Iowa was reeling and UM surging.
- UM lost that edge.
- If UM is going to push for the Big Ten Championship they need to stop those missed opportunities.
- JJ missed an easy TD again and Turner had easy pick 6.
- Those types of misses will cost against elite teams.
- UM’s 1st drive was a thing of beauty.
- Mixed up plays and formations.
- UM showed 8 different alignments on the 1st drive.
- Why they went into a shell rest of the game was a mystery.
- Was surprised we did not see more of JJ on the run.
- Iowa was sitting on Corum.
- UM’s 3 straight 3 and outs were caused by taking air out of the ball and kept Iowa in the game.
- Props to Coach Hart, Corum and Edwards are showing maturity in reading the zone blocks.
- Iowa’s lack of speed was telling.
- Graham has a shot to be very good.
- Great to see defense close out the game with a big stop and 4 sacks!
- My #1 concern is no longer pass rush.
- It is linebacker play.
- Iowa hurt UM with the stretch play and exposed our linebackers.
- They looked lost either not filling or filling too early.
- They was no reason for UM defense to get beat on the boot so many times.
- Just stay home.
- Other issue defense needs to address, crossing routes,
- Got really tired watching our DB’s run into each other.
- I have been critical of DT play. Thought it was much improved today.
- One more thing on offense, Would some one keep tract of the play clock.
- Burning TO’s or taking delay penalties will burn UM eventually.
- I really liked some of the D front stunts.
- Okie’s one sack off a twist stunt was a thing of beauty.
- I agree with Odog, Morris is no Hutch. But love his effort and heart.
- Until next week, Go Blue!
