    Overview:

Royce Jenkins-Stone is a high school linebacker and running back who we believe will play outside linebacker at Michigan. Royce is a very high level overall athlete who has recorded a 32″ vertical and has run a sub 4.6 40. He is a good student with a 3.0 GPA. Royce recorded 90 tackles as a junior.

    Strengths:

Stone plays a very physical and aggressive game. He finishes his tackles and at times literally runs right through ball carriers. Royce shows good instincts and seems to always be around the football. He runs real well for his size and makes plays from sideline to sideline. If you watch his sophomore and junior film the improvement in his game is stark, especially in coverage and making plays in space. Stone has a very high ceiling.

    Needs Work:

Royce will need to hit the weight room and add weight and strength. He is still fundamental raw and will need to improve tackling, taking on blockers, and his stance.

Red-shirt or play his Freshman Year?

GBMWolverine believes he will likely red-shirt his first year especially with the numbers building at linebacker. Would be nice to start red-shirting good players instead of forcing them to play when they aren’t quite ready yet.

Royce Jenkins-Stone reminds the GBMWolverine Staff of — Former Michigan Football Player — Larry Foote — who played linebacker.

    Final Thoughts:

We welcome Royce Jenkins-Stone to Michigan and hope he has a successful career on and off the football field as a student-athlete at the University of Michigan. Go Blue!
